The workers lamented the increasing cases of killings, kidnappings and insecurity across the country, saying citizens now live in fear amid worsening uncertainty.

Federal workers under the umbrella of the Federal Workers Forum (FWF) have expressed deep concern over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, accusing the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) of failing to take decisive action in defence of workers and ordinary citizens.

In the communiqué dated Thursday, June 25, 2026, the forum said members were unanimous in their decision to address what they described as the deteriorating security situation and growing hardship confronting Nigerians.

The communiqué followed an emergency online meeting held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, following an earlier general meeting attended by federal workers from across the country.

It was also jointly signed by the National Coordinator of the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze, and the General Secretary, Comrade Ayo Ogundele.
