The Southern Railway has announced that the origination/termination of Chennai Egmore - Velankanni-Chennai Egmore daily express will be restored to its original terminal Chennai Egmore soon.The Chennai Egmore-Velankanni-Chennai Egmore Express (16175/6) will terminate at Chennai Egmore with effect from June 30. The train (16175) will originate from Chennai Egmore with effect from July 1, a press release from the Tiruchi Railway Division said. The express train originates / terminates at Tambaram at present.The train from Chennai Egmore will leave at 9 p.m. and reach Tambaram at 9.28 p.m. It will depart from Tambaram at 9.30 p.m. There is no change in timings between Tambaram and Velankanni. The express train from Velankanni will reach Tambaram at 4.08 a.m. and leave at 4.10 a.m. It will reach Chennai Egmore at 5.15 a.m. There is no change in the timings between Velankanni and Tambaram, the release said.
