HOME IMPROVEMENT: Schiaparelli has opened a new boutique at Bergdorf Goodman, marking the launch of its latest retail concept in the United States.
The 1,185-square-foot shop-in-shop on the fourth floor of the New York department store has been designed by Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry in collaboration with Stockholm-based architecture agency Halleroed. It replaces the previous unit on the same floor.
Originally unveiled at Harrods in London last year, the black-and-gold interior is conceived like an apartment filled with Surrealist touches, inspired by the maison’s historic headquarters at 21 Place Vendôme in Paris. At its center, a velvet banquette sits under a domed ceiling hand-painted in gold leaf and covered in symbols drawn by Roseberry.
“Enhancing our partnership with Bergdorf Goodman through a new, expanded boutique marks an exciting moment for Schiaparelli, while reinforcing our roots in New York and our ambition in North America,” said Delphine Bellini, chief executive officer of Schiaparelli.
“Here, the highest standards of craftsmanship meet a bold and contemporary vision of luxury, offering our American clients a unique immersion into the Schiaparelli universe,” she added.
