MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines and Denmark have launched a pilot project to modernize the country’s offshore fishing industry through science-based fisheries management and sustainable harvesting.
Under the partnership, the two countries will test Danish pelagic midwater trawl systems and related fisheries technologies in Philippine waters.

The initiative aims to improve pelagic fishing efficiency to boost fish supply, strengthen food security and meet growing demand for affordable protein, the Department of Agriculture (DA) said Thursday.
