PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — The Schools Division of Zamboanga del Sur has placed all public schools under heightened alert, mandating stricter security and emergency preparedness measures in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Tacloban City.
The Tacloban school rampage on Monday involving two minor students left three students dead and 20 wounded. The 15-year-old suspect was charged with multiple murder.
Ma. Judelyn Ramos, schools division superintendent, issued Memorandum No. 488, series of 2026 on Tuesday directing school heads and personnel to immediately enforce tighter security measures to safeguard students, teachers, and staff.
