Sport is full of quirky occurrences, but right up there is the case of the Springbok who played for his country one weekend and a week later captained the opposition.

Faf de Klerk enjoyed an impressive Springboks comeback at scrumhalf against the Barbarians in Gqeberha last Saturday, and this weekend he hops the fence to lead the Barbarians in their match against Wales at Twickenham.

The 34-year-old will be joined by fellow Springbok Vincent Koch and Jeremy Ward, the former Sharks centre who has been with Stade Français for the last four years. Ward, a product of Grey High in Gqeberha, captained the Junior Springboks in four matches in 2016.

Double World Cup winner De Klerk leads a star-studded Barbarians team that boast 19 internationals from 11 different nations.
