The 34-year-old is set to appear before magistrates early next month following the incident, which took place back in February.‌Footage circulated widely across social media at the time, appearing to capture a confrontation outside a Cardiff petrol station, which involved shouting and a man falling to the ground. Cordina has additionally been charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon.‌In an official statement, a South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Two men have been charged in connection with an incident outside Pentwyn Service Station, Pentwyn Road, Cardiff, on February 27, 2026."‌"Joseph Cordina, 34, from Pontprennau, has been charged with assault and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place. He is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on July 7.
