SA Rugby has led the chorus of congratulations after Bafana Bafana secured a historic place in the FIFA World Cup knockout stages for the first time ever, following their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Korea in Monterrey on Thursday morning.

The governing body hailed the achievement as a moment of immense national pride, praising the team's resilience, dedication and determination on football's biggest stage.

"As South Africans, we celebrate this achievement together, united in joy and admiration for the dedication, resilience and spirit shown by our players on the world stage," SA Rugby said their social media post.

The rugby body added that Bafana's success demonstrated the power of unity and urged South Africans to continue backing the national team as they prepare for their Round of 32 showdown against tournament hosts Canada.
