Controversial businessman Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala
Self-confessed fraudster Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala will have to wait until next week to learn whether his deal to dodge the worst of a jail term holds up.
A Pretoria magistrate on Thursday reserved his decision on whether the plea and sentencing agreement — which would see Matlala jailed for an effective eight years — amounts to a just sentence.
He said he was not yet in a position to make that finding.
Matlala pleaded guilty to fraud, corruption and money laundering in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday.
