A squad of 12 young cricketers from B.E.S.T Cricket Academy has arrived in England to compete in the prestigious Apex Cricket Festival, one of the leading school and academy cricket events in the United Kingdom.
The Durban-based academy, founded in 2015, departed over the weekend for the international tour, where the players will compete against top English schools and invited academy teams from around the world.
The touring squad consists of boys aged between 13 and 16, with the majority being 14 years old. The players come from communities across the greater Durban area and are all members of B.E.S.T Cricket Academy.
For academy founder and coach Yashin Ebrahim, the tour represents far more than just cricket.
