SOMEBODY once said: “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." That person could have been referring to me. I love my job.

When joy lives in your work, mornings lose their weight. Rising each day is no longer a burden but a quiet celebration. For when passion and profession intertwine, the hours cease to feel like labour. Instead, they become a rhythm of fulfilment and a life where work dissolves into love, and love into work.

As a lecturer in dance and theatre, I regard my job as my hobby. Of course I could earn better but less remuneration far beats a higher salary for a job you despise. Everything in life, should not be around money.

I have realised that turning a passion into a career is the ideal way to live and never before has this struck me more clearly than in the past few weeks as I put the finishing touches during rehearsals for the dance-drama production, SARI SIR.
