Question: I’ve offered £700,000 for a maisonette in London. The offer has been accepted but hasn’t gone through yet. I’m now worried about the talk of Andy Burnham supporting a land tax in the future that the value has dropped. Should I withdraw my offer and then propose a new lower one. I’m panicking as to whether I’m doing the right thing.
Answer: Buying a home is a long-term decision, and despite the political drama in Westminster, there is currently no concrete proposal, timetable, or legislation that would justify reducing your offer.

To be frank though, I understand why you feel cautious mid-way through buying a £700,000 property.
