Britain and much of Europe are sweltering in a record-breaking June heatwave.
In the UK, there’s a Red Heat warning in place for only the second time ever, meaning a risk to life, that’s been widened towards the South Coast, until midnight Thursday.
There are also red warnings in France, Spain, Italy, Croatia and Poland as warm air is coming through from North Africa.
Schools have been shut, there are widespread cancellations on train services, power outages, and the heat has even caused the closure of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
