Oldham, London, Bradford and Keighley will be the first places to be investigated by the grooming gangs inquiry, chaired by former children’s commissioner Anne Longfield.

She’s been tasked with looking at how the gangs operated – and how police, schools and local authorities responded.

In London, which has England’s highest rate of referrals for child sexual exploitation, the inquiry will look at the city’s role in the national network of grooming gangs.

While in Bradford, campaigners have long called for more answers and accountability.
