The Metropolitan Police have announced a major expansion of technology across London, including drones, live facial recognition and AI.
The Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, has warned that tech is driving crime, not just enabling it – and without these tools, police will be outpaced by criminals.
But critics, and some within policing itself, say it’s being rolled out faster than the law can keep up. We spoke to the Met chief and put those concerns to him.
