Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) blasted Republicans, saying they “bow down to the Great Trump,” after the president canceled the signing of a housing bill. “The Republicans have distinguished themselves as a group by their absolute inability to stand up to Donald Trump,” Warren said on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street on Wednesday. “There has been only one basic move that Republicans in the Senate can make, and that is to bow down to the Great Trump.” Trump canceled the signing of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act bill on Wednesday, declaring that he would delay the signing until the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote, was passed.
The housing bill is a bipartisan legislative bill designed to tackle America’s housing affordability crisis amid rising home prices, rents, mortgage rates, insurance costs, and tight housing supply in many markets.
