Tehran, June 24 (EFE).- Iran on Wednesday reiterated that it has no plans to grant UN inspectors access to nuclear facilities damaged during last year’s conflict, contradicting statements by US President Donald Trump and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi that inspections would resume soon.
«In Switzerland, no meeting was held with Grossi, despite his request. There is also no program for access to the attacked facilities and nuclear materials,» Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi wrote on social media platform X.
Gharibabadi, who participated in the high-level negotiations with the US in Switzerland on Sunday and later headed the Iranian delegation during Monday’s technical talks, said any discussion of inspections and other nuclear-related issues would only take place within the framework of a final agreement and after the other side takes concrete steps to lift all sanctions.
«These issues will solely be examined and resolved within the framework of the final agreement and as a result of the other party’s practical action in terminating all sanctions.
You cannot advance the ‘stir up and take over’ policy with media hype,» he added, in an apparent reference to comments made by Trump and Grossi.
