MILAN – WWD has learned that Emmanuel Gintzburger is exiting Versace.

Gintzburger joined the Italian brand as chief executive officer in 2022. In late 2025 and early 2026, he led the house through its acquisition by the Prada Group and the appointment of Pieter Mulier as its chief creative officer.

Asked to comment, Prada confirmed the resignation of Gintzburger effective June 23. “Information about the new governance will be announced in due course,” said the company.

Ginztburger was tapped by Versace’s previous owner, Capri Holdings, in September 2022, and reported to its chairman and CEO, John D. Idol.

He was previously CEO of Alexander McQueen from May 2016.
