The command said the officers, who are operatives attached to the Imo State Command, have been taken into custody pending the outcome of investigations.

The Imo State Police Command said it has identified and arrested six officers captured in a viral video assaulting a young man in Nduhobokwe, Uzoagba, in Ikedggvuru Local Government Area of the state and has commenced disciplinary procedures against them.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, the command said the incident occurred on June 22, 2026, and that a prompt review of the viral video led to the identification of the officers involved.

According to Okoye, the officers are Inspector Ugochukwu Ibe, Inspector Nwachi Chimezie, Sergeant Ugoezuhu Austin, Corporal Michael Obi, Corporal Ebuka Onwuegbu, and Corporal Amos Sunny.
