A large contingent of the Fire Department was sent on Wednesday to tackle a wildfire that started amid low, dry vegetation in Aspropyrgos, a suburb of West Attica.
A total of 54 firefighters were mobilized with two groups from the 1st EMODE on foot, 20 vehicles, two aircraft and three helicopters. Assistance is also provided by local government water tankers.
