In a statement issued, Balogun said the outcome of the election did not come as a surprise to many Nigerians who had raised concerns about the transparency of the process before the poll.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has raised concerns over the credibility of the Ekiti State governorship election, describing the outcome as controversial and warning voters in Osun State to remain vigilant ahead of their own governorship election.

The party, through its South-West Zonal Organising Secretary, Comrade Wale Balogun, alleged that the Ekiti election was marred by irregularities, including alleged vote buying, voter intimidation, malfunctioning of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and concerns over the neutrality of electoral officials.

In a statement issued, Balogun said the outcome of the election did not come as a surprise to many Nigerians who had raised concerns about the transparency of the process before the poll.

He alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu was determined to secure political advantage ahead of future elections, claiming that this influenced the conduct and outcome of the Ekiti poll.
