State-owned and private fuel station chains in Zaporizhzhia have begun implementing protective measures for their facilities. In the event of a critical situation, mobile fuel stations will be deployed across the city.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, this was announced during a briefing by Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“Standard protection designs have been provided to all fuel stations. Today, I spoke with the managers of both state-owned and private gas station networks. The protective measures will be financed by the owners themselves. As for fuel prices, this will not affect them,” Fedorov said.
He assured residents that there is currently no fuel shortage in the city.
“This morning, we discussed with the Prime Minister of Ukraine measures to accelerate the implementation of passive protection at our fuel stations. Three components are required: passive protection, repair kits for rapid restoration, and, third, mobile fuel stations that can operate in the event of a critical situation. We have communicated this to all fuel station networks, but the issue must be regulated at the national level. Zaporizhzhia is not the only city facing such challenges,” the regional chief said.
