Juan Fernando Quintero is on the pitch for Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, entering as a substitute in what marks his third appearance at the tournament.
A World Cup career worth remembering
Quintero first appeared on the World Cup stage in Brazil in 2014, where he scored against Ivory Coast in Colombia’s group stage campaign. He returned four years later in Russia, contributing an assist against Japan and another against Poland as Colombia navigated the group stage.
His selection for the 2026 edition was announced on June 3, 2026, as part of Colombia’s confirmed squad for the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
He currently plays for CA River Plate, the Argentine giant he rejoined in July 2025 on a contract running through 2027. His market value sits at €1.8 million.
