Prologue: The 2 AM Deployment
The deployment succeeded. I sat back, exhaled, and realized something I've never forgotten: the code I write has weight. It's not abstract. It's not just syntax. It's the difference between someone eating dinner and someone going hungry. Between a business staying open and closing. Between a delivery arriving on time or a child missing their school lunch.
Five years later, I've shipped hundreds of features. Some small ones. Some that moved millions in revenue. But that 2 AM deployment, that moment of realizing my code mattered, is the fire that's kept me going.
