Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Koko/Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Mai Barga Besse, has reportedly died in captivity weeks after he was abducted by terrorists, raising fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in parts of northern Nigeria.

The report of his death emerged on Tuesday after several northern conflict monitors and security analysts shared claims that the former APC chieftain had died while being held by his abductors.
