KICK OFF: Designer Harry Nuriev’s Crosby Studios kick-started into the world of sports with an exhibition and new retail concept featuring branded merchandise and a curated selection of fashion, design, technology and lifestyle products.
As soccer fans from around the world flock to North America for the World Cup, the Paris-based design firm unveiled “Home of Football: Home & Away” on Monday. The exhibit unfolded in partnership with Home of Football, a new cultural destination dedicated to the globally beloved game, which opened in the heart of New York’s design district between Chelsea and Hudson Yards on Monday.
Inside the Chelsea, New York City space, Nuriev created an immersive six-chapter exhibition where sport, art, design and fashion intersect. The showcase was curated by multidisciplinary art and cultural platform Air Afrique, known for its high-profile collaborations with brands like Nike and design-forward vision pioneered by its team of young creatives of African descent. Named after the defunct, pioneering pan-African airline founded in 1961, the group champions African and African diaspora expression.
