Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’s came under fire for their performance in the World Cup opener against Mexico.
Muhsin Ertugral has advised Bafana Bafana against attempting to dominate possession against South Korea in their crucial Group A clash at Monterrey Stadium this Thursday (3am), warning that they will struggle to contain the South Koreans' aggressive style of play.
Bafana head into this match in Mexico desperate for a win; a victory is essential if they are to qualify for the knockout stage for the first time in four finals. They currently sit at the bottom of the group with only one point following a loss and a draw.
Having marked their return to the competition with a defeat to co-hosts Mexico, they responded with a hard-fought draw against Czechia in Atlanta last week – a match defined by grit and determination as they salvaged a result after falling behind early.
With Mexico and Czechia having provided distinct tactical challenges for coach Hugo Broos and his squad, South Korea is expected to be no different. Speaking exclusively to Independent Media ahead of the encounter, Ertugral outlined the tactical approach Bafana must adopt to secure the win.
