The discovery of a decomposing body of a young woman, found stuffed inside a black refuse bag in Kewtown, Athlone, has shocked residents, believing she had been dumped there.
The naked body was found inside the plastic bag on the sidewalk and is believed to belong to a coloured 28-year-old woman who has yet to be identified.
Police said they are investigating the cause of death at ths stage with an inquest docket opened.
Police said the woman is believed to be 28 years old.
