Thwaka Ahmed Musliyar, Khazi of Dakshina Kannada, passed away in Mangaluru on Tuesday (June 23).He will be laid to rest at Kashi Patna, near Moodbidri, on Wednesday (June 24).In his condolence message, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar posted on X: “...Thwaka Utsad, who assumed the role of Khazi of Dakshina Kannada in 2010, served as the Khazi for approximately more than 200 Jammats in Dakshina Kannada and Kerala and also rendered service as the president of Kasaragod district. His religious preachings, words of the righteous path and contributions to society will always be remembered.”Mangaluru MLA and Minister for Health and Family Welfare U. T. Khader said that he guided the Muslim community in Dakshina Kannada for a long time. He dedicated his life to religion, education and society.Musliyar played a pivotal role in strengthening harmony, peace and religious values in society.Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president B.K. Haripasad posted on X that Musliyar dedicated his entire life to religious awakening, education and social service, serving as a guide to thousands of people.“His departure is an irreplaceable loss not only to the Muslim community but to the entire society,” Mr. Hariprasad said.
