Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has distanced herself from a Facebook account impersonating her and making allegations that officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) demanded a bribe from her.
The controversy erupted after a Facebook page bearing Plumptre’s name claimed that the defender had been omitted from the Super Falcons squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) because she allegedly refused to comply with demands made by some “corrupt officials.”
The post further alleged that Plumptre was considering taking a “step back” from the national team due to the purported bribery demands.
