'I will never compromise my values' — Ashleigh Plumptre slams NFF over WAFCON omission
Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has alleged corruption within the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), claiming certain officials were responsible for her omission from Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The 28-year-old made the allegations in a social media post, expressing disappointment at her reported exclusion from the tournament, which Morocco will host from July 25 to August 16, 2026.
Defending champions Nigeria will be aiming to win a record-extending 11th WAFCON title when the competition kicks off next month.
