A major incident has been declared after a bus crashed by a busy roundabout in Wales.The crash occurred on the A484 near a roundabout in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, police said. Reports suggest the bus has left the road and is lying on its side.Emergency services rushed to the scene this afternoon, including two air ambulances. The road is now closed from Kidwelly Roundabout to Llandyfaelog and is expected to remain so for some time.The public is being asked to avoid the area as emergency service efforts continue, and is warned waiting times at local hospitals are likely to increase. A Dyfed Powys Police spokesperson said: 'Officers are dealing with a major incident in Kidwelly, following a report of a collision involving a bus on the A484 near the Kidwelly roundabout (Parc y Bocs). 'Emergency services are on the scene and members of the public are asked to stay away from the area until further notice. 'The Deputy Minister for transport will update the Senedd members accordingly once further information is available.'Local hospitals warned they are 'busy' and patients will face longer wait times as a result of the crash.The Hywel Dda Health Board, which covers the west of Wales including Carmarthenshire, said in a social media post: 'Our teams are responding to the major incident called as a result of the road traffic incident in Kidwelly. 'Our Emergency Departments are busy, and we waiting times are likely to be longer as we treat individuals with the greatest need first.'Thank you for your patience and understanding.
