A TUI fly Netherlands charter flight from Kenya to Amsterdam was forced to make an emergency landing at Rhodes airport on Monday evening.
Flight TFL191 was flying over Greece when the captain reported that the aircraft had experienced mechanical failure and had to land at Diagoras Airport for inspection.
The Boeing 787-7 Dreamliner landed safely at 10.16 p.m. and is still being checked by engineers.
Authorities have not yet revealed the exact nature of the technical problem that diverted the flight to Rhodes, but official information is expected from the airline or the competent aviation authorities soon.
