In the village of Bilenke, Zaporizhzhia district, the Myklashevskyi Estate—an architectural and historical landmark—was destroyed as a result of Russian shelling.
According to Ukrinform, historian Anna Golovko, head of the press service of the Khortytsia National Reserve, reported this on Facebook.
“The Estate of Mykhailo Myklashevskyi—a member of an ancient Ukrainian Cossack officer family—was not merely an architectural and historical landmark. It was the only estate in the Zaporizhzhia region that was so well-preserved. It survived numerous historical upheavals over more than a century and a half of its existence and had already sustained damage on multiple occasions during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we have likely lost it forever,” she wrote.
The building was constructed between 1853 and 1916. It featured antique wooden decor, a spiral metal staircase, verandas, and unique interior elements. The building housed an educational institution.
