On Tuesday, June 30, a Russian drone struck Zaporizhzhia, hitting the city’s historic district and damaging buildings that are classified as local cultural heritage sites.

This is according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Fragments of the drone caught fire at the impact site. The blast wave damaged several civilian vehicles, the Leshchynskyi House, the former Leshchynskyi Synagogue, and the Pashutin merchant family house.

Local historian Mykhailo Mordovskyi told Ukrinform that the Leshchynskyi House was built in 1901 and was the first three-story building in the former city of Oleksandrivsk. It was first destroyed in 1905 during anti-Jewish pogroms, then rebuilt in 1908, although the third floor was not restored, leaving it as a two-story building. It was destroyed again during World War II but later rebuilt. This is now the third time the historic structure has been damaged.
