Mumbai: In an embarrassment and possibly a sign of things to come, three MLAs out of the 20 did not attend a legislative party meeting called by Uddhav Thackeray on Monday. One MLC was also not present for the meeting. The development comes as there is already talk that after the six UBT Lok Sabha MPs, the Shiv Sena would now break the UBT Sena MLAs.The UBT Sena claimed that all their MLAs had given valid reasons for skipping the meeting. Sources said that Shiv Sena is not planning to affect a split in the Shiv Sena legislature immediately but things could happen some time at the end of the year. "The MLAs have similar complaints to that of the MP's who quit, that the leadership is lacklustre and is not putting in the hard yards, they are not responsive to the issues raised by them." said a Shiv Sena leader."How long will they keep them under lock and key? This is just a trailer, you will soon see what happens next. Why is everyone leaving him (Uddhav Thackeray). He should answer," said Ramdas Kadam, Shiv Sena leader.
More cracks in UBT Sena? Three MLAs skip Thackeray meet
A legislative party meeting called by Uddhav Thackeray saw three MLAs and one MLC absent, fueling speculation of a potential split within the UBT Sena. Sources indicate dissatisfaction among MLAs regarding leadership's responsiveness, mirroring concerns previously voiced by defecting MPs. Senior leaders suggest this is a precursor to further developments, questioning the reasons behind the exodus from Thackeray's camp.
