Marco Rubio will visit the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain from Tuesday to Thursday for high-level regional talks.
The trip follows US signals of progress in opening negotiations aimed at durable peace with Iran.
Vice President JD Vance said talks on Iran’s nuclear programme are expected to begin this week.
As President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Mr Rubio will discuss the Iran memorandum of understanding and Strait of Hormuz transit security.
