Kolkata: The West Bengal government has proposed a new scheme for youth, which has been named as "Bhorsha Kormosuchi" in the state budget today. The scheme will provide a monthly allowance of Rs 3000 to eligible uneducated youth from 21-45 years who are unemployed while Rs 2000 will be given to those, who are not graduates, with family income less than one lakh per month.West Bengal Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta on Monday announced, as he presented its first state budget for the financial year 2026-27.Das Gupta also announced a series of tax simplification measures and the state government has proposed a significant increase in exemption. For salaried individuals, the monthly exemption limit has been raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 while for the self-employed persons, the annual exemption threshold has been enhanced from Rs 60,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh.
