RIYADH: The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has begun implementing architectural and urban design guidelines for the area extending from Al-Urooba Road in the south to the Northern Ring Road in the north, within the capital’s central commercial axis.

The move also includes resuming the issuance of development permits within the zone, according to a recent report.

The initiative aims to regulate urban and architectural development, improve build quality, reinforce Riyadh’s urban identity, and promote a vibrant, high-quality urban environment in line with the city’s development goals.

The guidelines establish a regulatory and technical framework for development through standards and controls governing urban growth and architectural design.

They also guide building design, facades, pedestrian pathways, and public spaces, enhancing urban quality and improving integration between buildings, streets, and open areas.
