The threat of enemy action from Belarus is real if around 70,000 Russian troops are concentrated there, but Ukraine's Defense Forces are doing everything to prevent that.
National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko stated this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, as reported by Ukrinform.
"The enemy's main task is to stretch our forces so they can advance deeper into the territory more quickly. But that also requires forces - finding 70,000 servicemen who can act - let them try. And we will try to make sure they do not find them," Pivnenko said.
The National Guard commander recalled that the Russian special-purpose center "Senezh" is already involved in the border area and is operating in the Chernihiv direction.
"I am not sure they will organize so quickly, because Russia has certain problems in the Pokrovsk direction - we are destroying a lot of their infantry," he said.
