A 43-year-old worker was killed in an explosion at Badangpet in Meerpet on Sunday, with police suspecting that a chemical substance may have triggered the blast.The deceased was identified as Anoop, 43, who had recently arrived from Kolkata in search of employment.Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and shifted the remains for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.Personnel from the Bomb Detection Squad also visited the site and conducted an examination as part of the investigation.Preliminary inquiries suggest the blast could have been caused by a chemical reaction involving paint or another substance that may have been improperly handled or discarded.
