Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday reportedly whisked away human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, from the Federal High Court premises in Abuja to an unknown location.

Therefore, Sowore’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

The incident followed an earlier order by Justice Mohammed Umar directing that Sowore be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending Wednesday, June 24, 2026, when an application seeking a stay of execution of the bench warrant and the revocation of his bail would be heard.

Sowore, who had reportedly prepared to comply with the court order, arrived at the court with personal items, including a bag, soap, toothbrush, and other essentials in anticipation of his remand.
