Commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators, popularly known as ‘Okada’ and tricycle riders, have continued operations in some parts of Jos and surrounding areas despite the ban imposed by the Plateau State Government and enforced by security agencies as part of measures to address insecurity.

Vanguard observed that some commercial tricycles and motorcycles were still operating beyond the restricted hours in parts of the metropolis, including Old Airport Junction, the National Library area, Rayfield, Tudun Wada and adjoining communities.

The riders were seen conveying passengers and goods after 7 p.m., contrary to the government directive restricting commercial motorcycle operations within designated areas.

Tricycles were also observed operating in some locations despite movement restrictions.
