He is expected to remain in office until a successor is chosen through the party's leadership process.
A British lawmaker, Rupert Lowe, has welcomed the resignation of Keir Starmer, describing the outgoing Prime Minister as a "disgraceful" leader whose tenure accelerated what he called the decline of Britain.
Starmer announced his resignation on Monday following mounting pressure from within the governing Labour Party, ending a turbulent premiership less than two years after leading Labour to a landslide general election victory.
He is expected to remain in office until a successor is chosen through the party's leadership process.
Reacting on X, Lowe, the MP for Great Yarmouth since 2024 and leader of Restore Britain, launched a sharp attack on the departing Prime Minister, accusing him of failing the country and undermining Britain's future.
