The traffic police registered 669 cases of drunk driving and 46 cases of speeding during a special enforcement drive conducted across Bengaluru between June 15 and 21.The drive, carried out by officials from all 53 traffic police stations, targeted motorists driving under the influence of alcohol, and those violating speed limits. During the operation, police checked 43,057 vehicles of various categories across Bengaluru.A total of 669 motorists were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 46 cases of speeding were registered. Traffic police collected fines amounting to ₹46,000 from speeding violators.According to police, the special drive was aimed at curbing drunken driving and speeding, two major factors contributing to road accidents.
