Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Parliament and the head of the Islamic Republic’s negotiating delegation in Switzerland, claimed that the United States is in a state of desperation regarding the Islamic Republic and warned against any military action targeting Iran.

Ghalibaf wrote on his personal account on the X platform: “Do they not think to themselves that if their threats had any results, they would not have reached today’s desperation? We do not give any weight to American threats.” Addressing U.S. officials, he added: “They had better watch their remarks. Our armed forces stand ready to respond differently.” The Parliament Speaker further wrote: “No matter how much they talk, it is we who act.”

Concurrently, the Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that the Iranian negotiating delegation had walked out of the venue in protest against Donald Trump’s recent remarks.

Ghalibaf’s statements were made as U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking on Sunday on the sidelines of the commencement of talks between representatives of Tehran and Washington in Switzerland, threatened the Islamic Republic over the activities of its backed forces in Lebanon.
