A crew member has died after he fell from a luxury cruise ship off the western coast of Scotland.The Hebridean Princess had been sailing near the town of Oban, through the Sound of Mull channel between the Hebrides and the mainland on the evening of June 16 when the man fell overboard.The Oban Coastguard Rescue Team rushed out to the scene just after 8pm but could not save the sailor.The cruise ship's operator Hebridean Island Cruises issued a statement about the man's death, saying their thoughts were with his family, friends and colleagues.A spokesperson said: 'We are supporting the relevant authorities in their inquiries.'The individual's next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with their family, friends, and colleagues.'No further details will be provided while inquiries are ongoing.'There were 38 people aboard the ship at the time of the incident. The Hebridean Princess is a luxury vessel which takes passengers on private tours across the Hebrides, Shetland Isles and Orkney.
