A 45-year-old man has been arrested after police recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux Legend Edition worth R700,000 on the N1 South outside Polokwane during an intelligence-driven anti-smuggling operation. The vehicle, reportedly stolen in Tshwane, was allegedly being transported towards the Beitbridge Port of Entry when it was intercepted.
A 45-year-old man is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court after police recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux Legend Edition double-cab bakkie valued at R700 000 during an anti-smuggling operation on the N1 South outside Polokwane.
According to police, the vehicle had been reported stolen in Tshwane and was intercepted during an intelligence-driven operation targeting vehicle smuggling networks.
Police said the Toyota Hilux Legend Edition was allegedly being transported through Limpopo en route to the Beitbridge Port of Entry, where it was suspected it would be smuggled out of the country.
