Proteas Women’s captain Laura Wolvaardt has heaped praise on her superstar all-rounder Marizanne Kapp.
The veteran was in outstanding form at Old Trafford on Sunday, claiming 2/27 before driving the Proteas to a memorable six-wicket victory over India with an unbeaten 81 in the successful run chase.
“What a finish. What a game. I think we were very stressed out on the bench there. I think to win from the position that we were in was absolutely incredible, and it’s probably one of the best knocks I’ve seen under so much pressure. And to do it against a side that we lost the final to as well is pretty special,” said Wolvaardt.
The skipper hailed Kapp’s temperament and ability to produce her best at the most critical moments.
