Paris FC has signed Aquila Peleseuma, an 11-year-old footballer of Samoan heritage. Born in Wellington and the youngest of three siblings, he is slowly making his way into professional football.
Aquila is the son of Opetera and Stacee. His father, Opetera Peleseuma, is a rugby player. He made his mark in New Zealand early and made the national under-20s side before joining the Wellington Lions and the Hurricanes.
He played for the Hutt Marist Old Boys club in the local Wellington Rugby Union competition.
Aquila’s parents were into Basketball and athletics. The two never thought that their children would take up football.
Aquila picked it up while playing with kids around their Paris neighbourhood, while his siblings, Azariah and Aila Rose, did not.
